Permanent residents in Greece

There is no document required for opening or crediting the account.

Greek seamen

1. A solemn statement reporting the registration number of the Seaman's book, the name and ethnicity (flag) of the vessel he is employed by on the day of the deposit, or (in case of temporary suspension of the shipping service) the vessel on which he had most recently served.
2. The statement must be authenticated by the ship's captain, carrying the official logo of the ship on which he is currently serving (or had served most recently), authorized by the maritime agency or the shipowner. Alternatively, an affirmation by the captain (or the maritime agency or the shipowner) containing the aforementioned data is required.

Greeks working abroad

1. A statement by the depositor reporting the number, date and place of issue of his/her valid passport, as well as his/her full address abroad or in Greece.
2. In case there are no working papers, an affirmation by the Ministry of Labour of the prefecture he/she is working in is required, or a respective affirmation by the Greek consulate in the area stating that he/she has temporarily emigrated and he/she is working abroad.

Technical Company Staff

1. An attested copy of labour bargaining for at least 6-month occupation in technical works abroad.
2. A statement made by the depositor, attested to by the technical company, or a certificate made by the company confirming the depositor’s work location along with the fact that he is being paid in foreign currency.
