• Interest rates vary according to currency and type of account
• A foreign currency account can also be credited either by funds transferred from abroad ( e.g. from seamen or emigrants), or by funds purchased against Euro by Greek residents

Foreign currency time deposits

Deposits can be either:

• 1 month term
• 2 month term
• 3 month term
• 6 month term
• 1 year term
  

Minimum deposit amount: equivalent to $3.000.

Account opening

The opening of a foreign currency savings account can be accomplished with either:

• Banknotes in foreign currency
• Cheque in foreign currency
• Traveller's cheques
• Remittances
