Foreign Currency - General Information
- The Greek Postal Savings Bank purchases banknotes in foreign currency.
- All the banknotes from countries whose currency is incorporated in the daily Fx Foreign Exchange Rates reference of the Bank of Greece, are applicable to transactions.
- The Greek Postal Savings Bank purchases travelers cheques and bank cheques in foreign currency.
- All the traveler and bank cheques from countries that are incorporated in the daily Fx Foreign Exchange Rates posted by the Bank of Greece, are eligible for transactions.
- The traveler and bank cheques’ purchase is based on the prices of the daily Fx rate reference.
- We purchase bank cheques in foreign currency whether or not the payee has a Greek Postal Savings Bank account in euros. A new account is issued in the name of the payee in the event that a Greek Postal Savings Bank account in euro is not available.
- The Greek Postal Savings Bank purchases cheques in foreign currency, issued either by foreign or domestic Banks.
Note:
In cases when cheques are issued by domestic Banks to the depositor’s order, these cheques must be supported by documentation from the issuing Bank, assuring that the amount on the cheque is drawn against the same person’s foreign currency savings withdrawal.
