22 September 2006Integrated Information System (I.I.S.)The Greek Postal Savings Bank Integrated Information System (I.I.S.) is put into operation on 30 September 2006.
The Greek Postal Savings Bank Société Anonyme informs its customers that its Integrated Information System (I.I.S.) will be put into full operation on 30 September 2006 and that from 2 October 2006 transactions with the public will take place using this system.
The Integrated Information System (I.I.S.) will make a substantial contribution to the further growth and modernisation of the Greek Postal Savings Bank as all the Bank’s banking work, both internal and in transactions with its customers will be automated and according to the principles of technology that are consistent with the manner in which Banking Institutions operate.
There are multiple benefits from the I.I.S.:
- Transaction speed is increased across the board for all transactions
- Flexibility in creating new products that will be quick to cover customer's needs.
- Flexibility in the Greek Postal Savings Bank alliance with Hellenic Post, as the capacity will exist to make withdrawals and deposits to all sorts of accounts from the joint network of both these Organisations.
- The capacity to link all deposit accounts with a debit card.
The Integrated Information System (I.I.S.) is a major infrastructure project for the Greek Postal Savings Bank. A consistent effort completed over the past few years, the project was accomplished with the cooperation of major companies in the information technology sector, and is implemented for the benefit of the Bank’s customers, through the unreserved and laborious contributions of the Bank's employees.
During the first few days that the I.I.S. will be operational both people and systems will be getting used to the work in order to achieve optimum operations.
We therefore ask our customers to be understanding and would like to note the following:
- On Monday 2/10/2006 Greek Postal Savings Bank branches will be open from 12:00 to 16:00.
- During the first week that the I.I.S. will be operational (3/10/2006-6/10/2006) only morning working hours will be in effect, 7:30 – 14:00 and the branches will be closed in the afternoons.
- From Monday 9/10/2006 to Friday 13/9/2006 only morning working hours will be in effect, 7:30 – 14:00 and the branches will be closed in the afternoons.
