The social dimension of the Organization

A distinctively sensitive money-box

The «Giant Money-box» initiative framed the Daily Care Center for the Elderly (KIFI) supportive programme, aiming at collecting funds for the Third Age support. The visitors’ contribution was impressive, then they could see themselves on the giant video wall screen set at the pavilion’s exterior.

At the same time, the Greek Postal Savings Bank supported KIFI with an additional special donation in order to help collecting money for buying 2 vehicles to service the “help at home" projects, as well as for buying computers to educate people suffering from dementia.

Special welfare work for families having many children

For this purpose, Greek Postal Savings Bank rewards distinguished students of varying educational levels of our country who come from families having many children. Moreover, it offers the «first schoolbag» for the young pupils of the first class of the Elementary School who also come from families with many children.

The cultural dimension of the Organization

Modern projects through effective co-operations

The programme «Treasures from a money-box» is a distinctive result of the cooperation between the Greek Postal Savings Bank and the Foundation of the Hellenic World. It aims at presenting the history of money and saving in Greece.

This modern educational programme is enriched by a seminal project for children, the so-called «Creative Corner». In this project, the young visitors of the Foundation of the Hellenic World are taught the history of money and the value of the idea of saving through playing, with the help of specialist museum educators. The programme will be transferred to schools and will start being released from October 2005.

This overall effort will be hosted in the specially designed spaces of the Athens’ Foundation of the Hellenic World and will be part of the Foundation’s educational policy.
